Who reads Quarry Grove?
Everyone! Quarry Grove’s core demographic ranges between 5-9, however the characters have been crafted to appeal to audiences above and below that age group - thanks to a host of strange, silly personalities and bizarre situations.

The first book Hicky Gets His Wings starts with Quarry Grove’s oddball, Hicky Caterpillar, applying for his learner wings from the local Butterfly Association. Each book will contain a self-contained story, though the events in one story may have ramifications in another further into the series.

Kids will enjoy being able to find small comments within one book that might hint or establish events that occur in past or future stories. For example, in Book 2, there will be a reference to a contest being planned that will later become the central storyline for Book 4. The aim is to create a series that portrays a happy community that overcomes their problems together.

While these stories retain a light, fun, atmosphere, we hope the books will enrich the need for community spirit within children. It's a message that we think is important to instill in children given the multi-cultural times in which we live.

Quarry Grove is a story about silly insects - but if Boris Spider and PC Bluebottle can live together, then we hope this might suggest that what makes us different doesn’t have to keep us from being friends. We hope Quarry Grove can be a range of books children - and adults - can enjoy for their silly humour, but also take back an important message about the importance for friendship and tolerance within our cultures.
